我眼中的文佩是一位叫人钦佩的漫画家、插画家和绘本作家。

主要是她创作的速度快得令人难以置信，导致她每年的量产特高。

我有时会暗中祈求本地有更多像她这样的创作者，让更多孩子有机会阅读本地优质作品。

文佩最新创作的《我有一头牛》、《我有一棵树》、《我有一支笔》和以往的画风略有不同，作者这回的笔触带有了一股清风，徐徐不 疾，让人读来心花怒放！

要找到一本本地原创好绘本不易，要找到 一套更是难上加难。

期待在来年能够读到更多这个系列的绘本!

最后有个突发奇想：一棵树可以削成一支笔，一支笔可以画出 一头牛，一头牛可以吃掉树上的叶子！无限的想象空间呀！

FOREWORD

From the time she was given a task to the time of completion, Wenpei never ceased to amaze me with how fast she could deliver her work, be it in the form of an artwork or writing. It is common place that people miss deadlines in our line of work. But I doubt this concept even exists in her head.

Sometime back, Wenpei asked me if I could read her latest “What I Have” series, I got curious and later discovered (pleasantly) that there were a total of three books in the series: I Have A Cow, I Have A Pen and I Have A Tree.

Soon after I started reading them, I was reminded of a book that I am extremely fond of The Giving Tree by the great Shel Silverstein.

These books possess a sense of fun, curiosity and clarity.

My very first thought was that Singapore should have more of such books made available to our children. Well... but that also means that we will need to have more creators like Wenpei to create new stories.

I am looking forward to more in the series from Wenpei. I believe that if given the opportunity, this series would take shape very quickly.

And knowing Wenpei, she won’t rest until she gets every line down onto the paper (or in this case - the screen) within the shortest time.

A sudden image came into my mind at this instance: a tree can be whittled into

a pen, a pen can draw a cow, and a cow can swallow up all the leaves from the tree! A limitless realm of imagination!
